Choir! Choir! founders, Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman, in performance and conversation with Craig Pike and host Elamin Abdelmahmoud. For one evening, the Appel Salon becomes a choir. Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman will teach a song to a room full of people who have never sung together, and you'll hear a crowd turn into something that sounds and feels like a community. Between songs, Goldman and Adilman will be joined by That Choir Artistic Director Craig Pike to talk about why choirs matter, and what it tells us about the kinds of gatherings our city needs more of. What is it about singing together that cuts through isolation so effectively? How does harmonizing with people we've never met create bonds that outlast the song? And what can an institution like the public library learn from a model built entirely on radical, no-barrier participation.
