Haley Smalls is an R&B singer-songwriter and self-taught recording engineer whose music lives at the intersection of nostalgic R&B, touches of hip-hop, subtle synthwave, and traces of Caribbean - shaped equally by classical vocal training and an uncompromising sense of artistic identity. Raised in Toronto by a Bajan father and European-Canadian mother, Haley was recognized as a prodigy early: her parents enrolled her in vocal lessons after a neighbor heard her singing and alerted them to her gift, and she was recording in professional studios by the time she was twelve. By 18, she had taught herself audio engineering - "The best gift I could have given myself," she's said - so that she would never have to rely on anyone else for her sound.

After years of navigating the music industry's pressures to conform, Haley found her footing as an independent artist - a decision that has defined her career. A pivotal early moment came in 2014, when Beyoncé shared Haley's YouTube cover of "Pretty Hurts" on Facebook, calling it something she loved. Her creative partnership with Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer Megaman (Drake, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Tyga, Bow Wow, Yo Gotti) has been the backbone of her artistic development. That collaboration helped Haley develop a signature blend: her classically trained voice layered over productions that move fluidly between R&B and other sub-genres - cohesive in a way that feels both nostalgic and distinctly modern. Her 2019 album *Summer Nights* marked a breakout moment, with standout track "Keeper" achieving one million streams across platforms on r
