Tom Reynolds Trio October 14 @ 5:00 PM Tom Reynolds (piano), George Koller (bass), Lorne Nehring (drums) No Reservations Pay What You Can Tom Reynolds-Music Bio Growing up in Chicago, and then moving to Nashville after university, Tom had the fortune of performing with fabulous musicians during the mid-1990's before beginning a career teaching theology. He worked as music director and toured with Grammy-winning jazz vocal group, "Take Six," which included an HBO House of Blues special and appearances on The Tonight Show and The Today Show. He also toured extensively as music director for Engelbert Humperdinck. In addition, he performed and toured with country artists like Shania Twain, Shelby Lynn, Crystal Gayle, and Ty Herndon, as well as with R&B artists Max Carl (from "38 Special") and Glen Frey (from the "Eagles"). On the jazz front, while in Nashville, Tom performed with artists like Jeff Coffin (sax from Dave Matthews Band), Bela Fleck, Victor Wooten, Kirk Whalum, Chester Thompson (drummer from "Genesis"), Denny Jiosa, and Boots Randolph, among others. Now that he lives in Toronto (since 2007), Tom has worked with local musicians in the recording studio, performed in jazz clubs around town and across Canada, and been active since 2009 as pianist at St. Andrew's United Church. He has recorded two trio projects, "Convergence" (2010) and "Open Skies" (2022), with bassist George Koller and drummer Lorne Nehring, featuring all original compositions and arrangements. Other musical ventures included recording and touring with Jim McCarty (drummer for "Yardbirds"), performing locally with acclaimed vocalist Jackie Richardson, and some touring in North America as member of the band, "In Orbit," which features Jeff Coffin, Felix Pastorius (bass, son of Jaco Pastorius) and Toronto-based musicians Michael Occhipinti (guitar) and Davide Direnzo (drums). "In Orbit" has released one CD and recorded a second, soon to be released. Tom teaches at Emmanuel College, Victoria University in the University of Toronto.
